Mike Godfrey has been tattooing since 1992. His first year and a half he spent learning from JR Grove. JR started his tattooing career with Capt. Jim, Tennessee Dave, and apprenticed under Tattoo Mark Renolds in Los Angeles and from there he went on to work at Capt. Jim’s shop on the Pike in Long Beach. In the fall of 1994 Mike went to work for JR's son Mike Pike at Psycho City in Lancaster, CA, and continued tattooing there with a great crew of artists until spring of 2005. Mike opened my own private studio/ gallery in Nov. of 2005, in southern Oregon. In summer of 2009 he closed his studio and joined up with an amazing artist and friend Jeff Gogue through winter 2012. Over the past 20 years Mike has traveled for conventions and guest spots all over the states, and tattooed in and visited, Canada, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, and France.
